Is it bedtime yet?

*sigh*

It's been one of those weeks. Ya know, the ones that leave you exhausted in every possible way at the end of the day, yet you feel like you've accomplished almost nothing? Yeah, that's it. I've finally gotten up to 50 items in my shop (which in itself doesn't seem like a lot, until I factor in that the majority of my time is spent cleaning, running errands, and chasing after a bunch of toddlers. And even then, I need to list a *ton* more for the holiday season.)

I am having a celebratory sale on my etsy shop in honor of the fact that I somehow listed the big "50", although once I get to 100, boy, I don't know what I'll do! Take 15% off by putting "Made it to 50!" in the notes to seller and wait for a revised invoice to pay.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving, and if you don't celebrate that, I hope you have a calm and relaxing week!

It's Almost Christmas!!

Now, normally, I'm not too thrilled at Christmas coming waaaaaaay quicker than it should, but this year, it's different.

I don't know if my general outlook has changed (which would be good! Any amount of happiness is a triumph against depression), or if it means even more this year than others. My girls are doubly excited about Christmas this year as well: it means daddy will be home! Oh, I am so excited! Not only that, but I've even made a few holiday inspired pieces. So far, a lovely lanyard and an oh-so-elegant bracelet with Cream Swarovski Crystal Pearls, garnets, and emeralds!

I've started making lists for the kids, including parkas and long johns! I still have to figure out what actual fun stuff to get them! Any suggestions for a 1 year old boy and two girls, 3 (just about 4) and 5?

So, I'm hoping to eventually have a little more substance in my posts here soon. But, like it's titled, I ramble! Anyway, have to hop off here soon, DD wants to watch Hannah Montana....again. Ha!

It's Been a While!

Wow, so much has happened lately! Kylie started school, which she is loving and doing VERY well in (of course, :D), Chris left for basic, and is doing well, he's already started his AIT, which means I should be able to talk to him more often!

My Etsy store is doing pretty well, considering it's still a bit new. Sales have slowed down a little, but that's ok. I've been trying to get some more things that I have stored listed, but it's a little difficult when you're chasing toddlers all day! By the time their bed time comes, I'm ready for sleep as well! Lol.

We have a bit of interesting (and maybe fun?) news! Chris received his new orders, and we're moving to ALASKA at the end of December! OY!!! It's still a shock to me, and I am *so* nervous about moving so far away from everyone! I'm sure the kids will absolutely love it, but did they have to move us to the coldest state in the country in the middle of winter? Haha, nice.

So, just a heads up, things will probably be quiet for my shop and most likely this blog during December as we go to Chris' graduation and prepare to move from TN to AK. Things should pick up after the 1st of the year.

I had my first giveaway featured on facebook not too long ago, my apologies for not featuring it here! The turnout was wonderful, and I'm already thinking about what to do for my next one. I'll be sure to put it on here as well!

A Rant? A Rave? No, a Rambling....

Life has it's ups and it's downs; this I am well aware of. That doesn't make the downs any easier to deal with, or the ups any less exciting though.

Specifically, the downs. Chris leaves for basic on the 24th, and I'm wondering how it's going to work until mid-December, when he gets back. That's an awfully long time! We'll be in a better position financially and everything, well, any job would be better financially! Unemployment is kicking our behinds! Which leads to another thing. Our rent. :/ We got a notice today, and it's not the "oh yay, the rent's going down" notice. It's a "pay within 5 days or move out" notice. Blech. That seriously sucks. We never expected to be out of work so long, or for all the jobs we DID find to NOT work out longer than a few days. And that has made me realize something else, that I thought would be an "up", but has turned into a "down". Damn. Kylie starts school the 17th. But if we end up having to move it'll be out of the area, and she'll be transferred. Double damn.

On the upside though, I did have ice cream tonight, and it was good. :/

It's been a while.....

Egad! It's been a while since I've been on this here thing! A few changes have taken place, most importantly, I am an etsian! Woo! I've had 2 sales so far, which I think is pretty good, and two custom orders I'm currently working on! You can check out my page at http://elbeading.etsy.com !

I've got to get on the ball and get everything else listed, the hubby is tired of looking at it all!

Oh! I got my VistaPrint order in the other day! Woo! I feel more like an actual business now, with my cards and my car magnet, and everything else! Now I'm just looking for reasons to hand my cards out!

And now I notice that every sentence is finished with an "!". Nice. Oh well, I'm just really excited, which is good because I've been bummed about personal issues lately. Job searching sucks, and I wish there was a bit more out there that was stable and long-term. Blech.

Woohoo! Sale time!

I've decided to have a sale in the store, because I felt like it and maybe it would help me get my first sale for that store. :)

All handmade items (that means it excludes the items in the overstock category, because, well, I didn't make them, lol) are 20% off AND free shipping to US and Canada! Woo! Great deal, huh?

I thought so myself, so go out and buy! Or order a custom piece!

:) have a wonderful weekend!

Just Starting Out

So, this is a mix of both personal and business "ramblings" and thoughts. Personal ramblings and business thoughts. I have finally found something I am passionate about as far as a career, and am happy to be starting up. It's frustrating at times, whether it's designing, figuring out where/what/if to sell, and figuring out what needs to be done.

On a personal note, I'm learning that motherhood is a heck of a lot more challenging than I pictured. I mean, I knew it was going to be challenging, especially trying to raise *my* offspring (stubborn? no, I prefer strong-willed, haha), but there are times where I just don't have a clue where to begin! Oh well, comes with the territory I suppose, I still love them more than anything!

Be sure to stay tuned, as I'm sure I'll have more rambling mumbo-jumbo mixed in with some brilliant revelations, along with shameless advertising plugs to my jewelry store: eldesigns.ecrater.com (shameless plug #1, let's see how many we can get!).
